OUR BEAUTIFUL VENUE TRAVELS WITH US EVERYWHERE WE GO
Picture the scene: Outside the festival rages on, but you've escaped the British weather and find yourself resplendent on a chaise longue, cocktail in hand. You're sheltered under a silk canopy, cocooned by velvet lined walls and persian rugs and enjoying some of the best live music you've heard all weekend.
This opulence isn't merely for it's own sake however. As you sink further into the cushions, the space works it's magic and all barriers between artist and audience melt away. You've discovered one the festival's hidden highlights: The People's Front Room.
THE HISTORY:
The People's Front Room started in 2006 as a few friends and a 10x10ft tent, putting on intimate performances at Glastonbury, Boomtown, Shambala, Bestival and other UK festivals.
As the venue grew in size and the crew expanded (from a humble 8 to now well over 80), so did our investment into the space itself. More furniture, more rugs. Interactive art pieces started popping up, showcasing the creativity of our crew. A bar was added, the single piano became a stage, then two. The Front Room filled with people, and grew to accommodate more.
Today, we strive to maintain the cosy atmosphere we started out with, but running behind the scenes is a full scale sound and lighting system, two stages and a dedicated crew.
The care and effort that goes into designing, storing, transporting and building such a unique venue can't be measured. But we know it's worth it, and we're rewarded every time we go out.
